The SSR Multi-Purpose Terminal is ideally located inside the harbour and is naturally protected from heavy swells thus facilitating loading and discharge of General Cargo and Bulk Cargo at all times. It has ample berthing facilities and an overall dredge depth of 12.2m along the quays. Types of cargo handled at the Terminal are detailed as follows:

* –  hanlded by private operators other than CHCL

Adding to the above cargoes, it is to be pointed out that minimum twice a month pure car carriers (RORO) are also serviced at the SSR Multi-Purpose Terminal.
